The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas - John Boyne

' Lines may divide us, but hope with unite us...

Nine-year-old Bruno knows nothing of the Final Solution and the Holocaust. He is oblivious to the appalling cruelties being inflicted on the people of Europe by his country. All he knows is that he has been moved from his comfortable home in Berlin to a house in a desolate area where there is no one to play with. Until he meets Shmuel, a boy who lives a strange parallel existence on the other side of the adjoining wire fence and who, like the other people there, wears a uniform of striped pyjamas.

Bruno's friendship with Shmuel will take hime fro innocence to revelation. And in exploring what he is unwittingly a part of, he will inevitably become subsumed by the terrible process.

I know this book is old and i don't usually review these types of books but this one i just had to! It is one of the saddest books I've ever read. The story line is just absolutely amazing. At first when i saw it i thought maybe its not for me but after the first couple of pages i was hooked. I love the how deep this book is (i don't want to be a spoiler IM REALLY TRYING!) it is just incredible i totally recommend this book but be warned you will ball your eyes out!

This is one of those books where you will stay up really late temped to carry on ,unfortunately some of us have a bed time, and find out more about the story. There is nothing more i have to say about this book except get it and be amazed. Most of you reading my blog would have read this book but if you haven't then i highly recommend this book.
